Superhero Halloween Costumes

Superheros are very cool, no matter how old you are: from toddlers, kids, teens and adults. Why not dress up as Batman, Superman or Wonder Woman this halloween? Here are some tips about how to make your very own superhero costume quickly, for less money and so you look different from all the other superheros out there!

How to Make a Batman Halloween Costume

After the movie Batman Begins came out, we can only expect more people wearing Batman costumes this year. So let us focus on the Batman costume before Superman or Wonder Woman. You can use inexpensive materials and make your own Batman costume! Keep reading to find out exactly what you need to purchase or find around your house, and how you can be the next batman or batwoman!

Try to find these items to make your batman costume:  -A black ski mask to make the batmask part of the costume -A black sheet or a long black coat that can act as a cape -Some grey clothes, preferably tight fitting. If you can't find these, you can use any other grey clothes. -A pair of black underwear that is larger than your usual size, so it will fit on top of your grey costume. -Some black boots for the batboots -Some black gloves for the batgloves -A belt. This can either be a golden belt or a black one. -Black construction paper, which you will cut out into the shape of the batman symbol and paste onto your chest -Black construction paper to cut out and make bat ears with, which you will paste onto the ski mask. -Black make up, like black eyeliner or just halloween make up to use to make big black circles around your eyes.

Now that you have all of these inexpensive materials, it's time to make your very own batman begins costume! First start with making the mask, by cutting out some black construction paper into two "bat ears" shapes and pasting them onto your black ski mask. You might need to cut the bottom of your ski mask off, to give the batman "exposed mouth and chin" look.

Next you assemble the outfit. Use the black construction paper to cut out the badman symbol and paste it on the chest of your grey clothes. Next Place the black underwear on top of the grey clothes and attach the belt above the underwear. Add the boots and the gloves. Now for the cape, you should try to make it as big and as free flowing as you can. But remember that if this is a kid's costume, you don't want it to be too long so as to trip your kids when they are walking and trick or treating.

How to Make a Superman Halloween Costume

A superman costume relies on really tight clothing, so try to find some white nylons or tights and use those as your base. Dye two pairs blue, one for the legs and one for the upper body. Try to find a size that fits you comfortably, because you will be wearing this costume all night. Purchase a pair of red underwear and place those on top of the blue tights. If you don't have any tall boots, you can just wear regular shoes but cover them up with red construction paper or red plastic materials.

You should invest in a large red piece of fabric: something like a bed sheet will work. Wrap it around your shoulders and make it look magestic! As for the superman symbol, you can draw it out on colored construction paper and then cut it and paste it onto your chest. If you're cold during the night, be sure to stay warm in your cape. Fly high and save Lois, Mr. Superman!

How to Make a Wonder Woman Halloween Costume

You might wonder why anyone would want to dress up as Wonder Woman, but you should know that Buffy & Serenity fame writer Joss Whedon is working on creating a movie based on the Wonder Woman comic books. To make a smashing Wonder Woman costume get some tall boots and cover them with red shiny material. Wear see through stockings and purchase some large enough white underwear. Make sure the underwear are not see through, or wear black ones underneath.

Next color the white underwear with blue dye everywhere except for some small stars, you can do this by cutting out some stars from carboard or paper and laying them over the material before you stain the fabric. You can create a golden belt, a crown and wrist bands using construction paper or golden material. As for the shirt, find a nice red tank top and be sure to wear a push up bra. Carry a lasso with you and try to force the truth out of anyone you encounter!
