Tween Halloween Costumes

Tweens really tend to get the short end of the stick, especially when it comes to Halloween costumes. There exist tons of great children's halloween costumes as well as massive amounts of great teenager halloween costumes. But what about the inbetweens, or the tweens as they are often nicknamed? Well have no fear, no matter how spooky of a halloween costume you are looking for, because tween halloween costumes do exist. After all, Halloween and Tween rhymes, doesn't it?

The most important thing to keep in mind when trying to find a tween halloween costume is where exactly is this tween going to be wearing their costume to? Most kids wear halloween costumes when they go out trick or treating and asking for treats from neighbors. While most teenagers go to high school dances and halloween costume competitions. But again, what happens to the Tweens? Well these days, our tweens are growing up faster than ever and chances are they will be attending some sort of an organized party at one of their friends' houses or that they will be attending a school dance.

Depending on the character and personality of your child, they may prefer to dress up like adults and feel more part of the upper age groups and may prefer an outfit that makes them look sexy or more mature. If a tween should express interest in this type of costume, it is perfectly natural and probably a good idea to indulge them in this desire since Halloween is the night where anyone can be anything they want.

Another possibility would be for them to want to dress down in age. For instance a young girl may want to dress up as a faery princess, an angel or even a mermaid. This is also perfectly normal and there are tons of great ideas for do it yourself halloween costumes of this style. On the other hand, little boys may want to dress as superheros, which is a very common wish. Boys tend to enjoy and want to imitate superheros no matter how old they are, and so often superhero costumes tend to be the classics and it will be easy for you to find these costumes in shops and online.

Finally, if your children are interested in more traditional spooky halloween costumes for tweens it's time to watch out! Some tweens like to experiment with darker and possibly gothic clothing styles, and halloween is the perfect time for them to do this. Go with them as they go shopping for black eyeliner, fake tattoos and mesh stockings. Don't worry if their interest in scary halloween costumes seems a bit over the top, this is what Halloween is all about when you're a Tween: crossing over and experimenting!
